🐒 Ford Mondeo Mk4 Central Locking Problems

The button doesn't light up and it doesn't do anything if the fob is programmed to unlock all doors on a press. If you set the fob to unlock just the drivers door the button becomes live to assist in unlocking the rest of the doors once your inside. 1. The fuel filler flap does not lock. 2. The filler mechanism does - if you leave the car a few minutes after fully locking it, open the flap and try and push the filler opening cover you'll find it is well and truly locked. Keyless entry allows you to walk up to the car and it will unlock automatically, and touching a small square on the handle will lock the car. As far as I'm aware, you shouldn't be able to lock the key inside as the car will detect it and keep the doors available for unlocking. Basically the boot wouldnt open, by the external button or the button on the remote, i managed to open the boot by removing the lining on the inside, disconnecting the latch electrics and unscrewing the latch, lifted the boot leaving the latch locked at the bottom then connected + to pin 1 on the latch and common to pin 2, actuating the lock I am having to lock the door manually as the remote key doesnt seem to be working. I am assuming the key is faulty or the battery is flat. The only way round this at the moment is to open the door, turn off the ignition, jump out of the car, lock the door manually then run away quickly. After the lock is refitted to the door, take a screwdriver (or similar item) and push it into the latch to simulate shutting the door. An easy upgrade to remote central locking. Remove module, plug in replacement & program remote fob key. As for interior light staying on. it should turn on when unlocking doors & turn off when ignition is turned on or door are locked. Common problem is CTM built into instrument cluster - Pull fuse on back of fuse/relay panel located behind 1) updated control unit for Central locking and keyless entry and reprogrammed all the keys. 2) Updated (IDS) i think they said , saying that USB was sending just over 5.5v instead of 5v to the USB power output which caused the Card readers to fail, they also Updated the software on the stereo. Hopefully all fixed now. I have recently misplaced my main car key which contains a remote central locking key fob. This is for a Ford Mondeo estate (TDCi 52 plate) and Ford are quoting my £160 to replace the key (yes that 160!). Apparently this includes the cost of the key (£65+vat) and a fee for resetting the immobiliser codes (£75+vat). I find this amount to be TRsVmY.
